Business Journal: Business Accelerator Launches in Triad

An accelerator program created by The Variable, a Winston-Salem marketing agency, expects two of the companies it is working with to launch their products this summer.

The 100watt accelerator has four projects under contract. One of the companies set to launch this summer is Kabook!, which has developed a technology-driven platform for children’s books. The other is ROAMD, which offer a network of concierge health care providers.

The 100watt accelerator was created last year. The organization provides commercialization services, including idea creation, market validation, brand development and fundraising.

The Variable told the Triad Business Journal last year that it was looking to take on a role that would resemble a business and brand partner, such as investing in startups.

The Variable said it created 100watt to fill a gap in the region’s entrepreneurial space and to provide support to professionals looking to develop a business outside of their expertise. The company developed and brought to market Sunshine Beverages, an energy drink.
